Having worked with dozens of missions teams over the years, I’ve watched what tends to make them mutually beneficial and enjoyable for both those going on a trip and those receiving them. The team brought to Nicaragua both respected the culture and brought incredible energy and preparedness with them, so it’s no wonder it was such a positive experience for all of us! We’ll take team of hard-working learn-it-alls as often as you can put them together! We love what you guys do and who you are!

This trip transformed my view of what a true relationship with Christ looks like and how we should treat others the way that Christ treated those around him. I learned the importance of being vulnerable and honest with other Christians around me and how vital it is to have fellow believers come alongside you in your struggles. I’m so glad I said yes and opened my heart to what the Lord wanted to share with me.

My time in Nicaragua was not only beautiful, but heart-opening. I figured out how important it is to be open and honest. Most importantly, having the willingness to be unfiltered about any topic, especially sin. I gained patience and courage for learning to love others unconditionally. That is what God wants for me and that is what I want for myself.

I had a phenomenal experience on my mission experience to Nicaragua. I’ve been hesitant to go on short-term missions because the nature of those experiences can sometime be self-serving, rather than truly missional in nature. This experience resulted in the deepening of my faith. I feel like I grew the most through the deep devotionals we had at the end of the days with our team. Independent of where you are in your faith, you will grow.

When I thought about attending a ‘mission experience,’ what I expected was to share my time, labor, effort, and the little knowledge I knew about God to people in need. Little did I know that the people I traveled with and the people I met while in Ecuador, would be serving me more than I did them. This was not a mission trip, but a mission make-over for my heart and my life.

Taking time to devote to God to become closer to Him is worth doing. The mission experience literally changed the way I see the world. I had so many questions Jesus answered. I got to live out service. I gained a lifelong group of friends I can go to for anything, and most of all I was able to grow in my relationship with Christ.
