Team Spotlight: Emily Weber

Emily Weber has been traveling from a very young age. Growing up in a military family, she had experienced 11 moves by the age of 13 – including a brief time living in Okinawa, Japan!

“I think it stuck, because I can’t seem to stay in just one place, one role or one anything. Change and growth are good things.”

Because of this natural desire for change, Emily believes in constantly evolving, which is part of the reason she loves working in the ever-changing industry of travel.

Over the past five years, Emily has been fortunate to work in several areas of travel. From starting as an entry-level travel agent, traveling across the country for onsite operations, managing student and leisure accounts – to her current role, managing corporate travel. She believes each role has complimented the next and says it has been a fun learning and growing experience.

To Emily, the most important part of planning a trip for a client is to make it a personal experience. She works to build a level of trust with all of her clients to ensure that they know they can always count on her to support them.

Emily is driven by a motivation to always keep learning. Regardless of industry, she thinks it is essential to continue to educate yourself in order to grow both personally and professionally. One of many reasons Emily is proud to work for the Southwestern Family is because of the values that are instilled across all companies, which she believes shines through in the mission and vision for Southwestern Travel Group.

Queenstown, New Zealand is hands down Emily’s favorite destination that she has traveled to thus far. She describes the south island as a melting pot of people searching for adventure, culture, and beauty. One of Emily’s personal goals is to travel to one new international destination each year. Next on her list is a trip to India and Dubai, which has been postponed to September 2020. She can’t wait!

To Emily, working in travel should be fun. She believes travel is meant to be shared.

“Have fun, what we do inspires! We are curators of one of the most exciting things to share with others… we share travel!”
